SYTECH AWARDED"best solution" by gtc
SACRAMENTO; April 27, 2004 -- SyTech Solutions, a leading provider of document
management technology solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a "Best
Solution" by the Government Technology Conference (GTC) West 2004. The "Best Solu-
tion" award recognizes companies that have implemented innovative and successful tech-
nology solutions that significantly improve government business. SyTech received the
award from Clark Kelso, Chief Information Officer for the State of California.
GTC is the nation's largest and most respected technology conference for state and local
government, holding annual conferences nationwide. SyTech is one of sixteen recipients
of the award. Other "Best Solution" award recipients include Hewlett-Packard and Com-
puter Associates. "We are pleased to recognize SyTech with this prestigious award, for
their California Parks, Performance Management Solution," said Tamara Wilson, National
Marketing Director for GTC. "This award showcases companies that offer practical solu-
tions that meet challenging government technology needs."
"We are honored to receive this prestigious award, especially given the tough national
competition," commented SyTech's President, Bryan Golden. "Our technology innovations
are helping government face enormous challenges in very difficult economic times. Now,
more than ever, government agencies need to quickly track and present data. Under-
standing data shapes decisions, determines budgets, and, in this case, may even save
lives."
SyTech's Best Solution features its work with the California Department of Parks and Re-
creation, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division, to provide ongoing data man-
agement services. "The project collects and tracks data from disparate, often remote,
State parks. Collected data is then viewable on a Microsoft-based web portal where users
can query the data to understand everything from when the accidents are occuring to
why," explained Sam Velasquez, SyTech's Information Technology Director. "This system
gives the Department's staff instant access to its tabulated data in pie chart form, allow-
ing them to track accidents and enforce regulations in State parks."
SyTech continues to procees thousands of cards annually and is working on further dev-
eloping the online query system to handle additional capabilities. California State Parks
has experienced many benefits from SyTech 's services. Their services have ultimately
helped them to maximize their allocation of limited resources, guide enforcement, and
save lives.
SyTech's Best Solution will be showcased at next month's GTC West 2004 expo, to be
held at the Sacramento Convention Center on May 12-14, 2004.
