Microfilm Scanning

Drawings or other records kept in aperture cards are scanned on dedicated high speed equipment capable of up to 400dpi resolution. Manual indexing is not necessary if keypunched (Hollerith) index information is available. The punches are captured concurrently with the scanning.  Cards that have typed or handwritten identifying information are keyed manually.

Micro Film

SyTech uses leading NextScan Phoenix and SunRise scanners to capture aperture card images. Our scanners use superior camera technology that produces incredible precision and uniform output with less light. Scanned images are sharper with better edge definition because our scanners use fiber optics for their light source, eliminating hot spots and uneven lighting. A 10-bit, antiblooming camera array enhances image quality and protects against over exposure. We have a total of 13 NextScan and SunRise film scanners to ensure timely turnaround and improved processing.

Microfiche Scanning

Aperture Cards

As each microfiche can vary in format, we are setup to convert a wide variety of options. We convert jacketed fiche filmed at various reduction ratios in both simplex and duplex modes.  Multiple reduction ratios can exist on one fiche.

We process Computer Output Microfiche (COM) containing standardized grids including ultra high reduction ratios. We process large single-image fiche containing maps or other large graphic images in grayscale, color or black and white. As with microfilm scanning, the images will be indexed and electronically stored according to predetermined criteria and output to the medium of your choice.
